Abstract

Soy molasses (SM) is obtained during the production of soy protein concentrate, and it can be used in the production of animal feed. SM helps to bind the particles together. The aim of the research was to investigate the influence of SM on the specific energy consumption (SPE) of the pellet press during the production of dairy cow feed pellets, and the influence on the pellet durability index and pellet hardness. By adding SM to the mixture, the SPE of the pellet press had a statistically significant reduction and the pellet durability index did not statistically signifantly changed, but there was a decrease in the pellet hardness.
